Recently Completed Projects
GBAS have been fortunate to work with a wide range of industry stakeholders including golf clubs, public facilities, developers, investors, industry associations, government bodies, banks, law firms and major suppliers. Outlined below is a summary of our work undertaken for some recent clients.
Brisbane Golf Club
GBAS was recently engaged to work with the Club to develop a new strategic plan. With the Club’s current “where are we now” position established through data extracted from the GBAS Club Benchmarking platform, and with findings from our key stakeholder survey covering off the Club’s Vision and SWOT analysis we were able to develop a detailed road map for the Club. This road map will assist the Club maintain its position as one of the premier member clubs in Brisbane.
Yarra Yarra Golf Club
GBAS was engaged to conduct a review of the Club and ultimately identify the most appropriate management structure, supporting processes and resource requirements to deliver the club’s strategic planning initiatives. With the review outcome to also enhance effective and efficient service delivery to the Board and to Club members, the scope of work included interviews with directors and senior management, review of the Club’s strategic plan and results of the recent member survey and a financial assessment via the GBAS Club Benchmarking platform. Our review armed the Club with all the knowledge it required as it sought to appoint a new Club General Manager.
Western Australian Golf Club
GBAS recently completed a strategic assessment for the Western Australian Golf Club. This assessment focuses on the first part of our four-part planning process and provided the Club Board and Finance Committee with a detailed dissection of the Club’s current position. Working through all key drivers to Club operations, the assessment has provided the Club with the knowledge and requisite market information to confidently begin a new planning process.
The Coast Golf Club
GBAS was recently engaged to undertake a survey of the Club's members, seeking their views on some strategic options available to the Club. Supported by our Strategic Assessment process, results from the survey were presented to the Club’s Board, highlighting the future opportunities for the Club.
Club Catalina
With the Club having recently completed an update to its strategic plan, GBAS was engaged to assist it explore a diversification of the Club’s revenues, namely the potential development of a new mini golf and driving range amenity. Investigating potential market and member demand and examining findings from our 2021 National Mini Golf Facility Operations Survey, GBAS completed a feasibility assessment of both assets, determining return on investment timeframes for their respective development.
Royal Canberra Golf Club
In conjunction with John Neylan of Sport Eng, GBAS recently conducted a warm season grass conversion assessment at the Royal Canberra Golf Club. The agronomic assessment reviewed playing surface quality, maintenance comparison, water requirements and levels of pest and diseases. On the data side our review established the recent performance of the club, budgets for likely future course expenses, outcomes achievable on an “as is” basis (cool season grassing); likely alternate warm season costs and the subsequent cost differential evident. A detailed report was prepared and presented to members over two presentations at the Club.
